Delivery to a site can be arranged in the UK and abroad, or tanks can be collected from the factory. Stock tanks are generally available for next day delivery, depending on current stock levels.
Storing AdBlue®
There are specific requirements and regulations to bear in mind when storing AdBlue®, this is because it can be toxic to surface water and groundwater. As AdBlue® is corrosive, it must be stored in a high density tank. This includes polyethylene, polypropylene or stainless steel. Though there are not any current legal requirements for AdBlue® storage, the Environmental Agency has issued guidelines such as:
● Containers, pipework and dispensers must be suitable for use with urea.
● A secondary containment for the container and ancillary equipment is required.
● Surface water drains and the dispensing area drainage should be separate.
● AdBlue® should be dispensed via a trigger nozzle with an auto shut off.
● There should be emergency equipment for spills.
● An emergency plan should be put in place to deal with spillages and accidents, and suitable training should be undertaken.
Under the Anti-Pollution Works Regulations, the Environmental Agency can enforce these and insist improvements are made. All Tuffa UK tanks for AdBlue® are manufactured with these guidelines in mind and spill control kits are available.
Storing AdBlue® Correctly
It’s important to store AdBlue® correctly, as this ensures the AdBlue® does not become contaminated and equipment isn’t damaged. If AdBlue® is being stored in bulk, it should be stored in a specialist AdBlue® tank made of high density polyethylene.
If AdBlue® is being stored outside it should be kept in a container, such as a specific AdBlue® storage tank. The contained should clean, sealed and out of direct sunlight. A temperature of between -6°C and 25°C is ideal, as this will prevent contamination and boost lifespan. When stored correctly, AdBlue® can be stored anywhere from 12 to 18 months. All Tuffa UK tanks for AdBlue® are manufactured with storage guidelines in mind.
