Steel Oil Tanks
Steel Oil Storage Tanks
We offer both single skin steel oil tanks and those with a secondary containment, both of which are high quality and long lasting. Our single skin steel oil tanks are low cost and available in a range of sizes, from 900 litres to 2,300 litres. Our bunded steel oil tanks are fitted with an integral secondary containment, making them extremely secure and environmentally friendly. They are available in a range of sizes also, ranging from 900 litres to 90,000 litres. All of our bunded steel oil tanks can be fitted with fire protection as a way to protect premises and its contents.
As well as our standard range of steel oil tanks, we also manufacture them on a bespoke basis. This means you can find the ideal steel oil tanks for you, which is helpful if you are replacing an existing tank with very specific dimensions. We use steel that’s durable, weatherproof and long lasting. Our steel oil tanks can last for more than 30 years when taken care of correctly.
When you choose one of our steel oil tanks, you will be choosing a tank that is ready to use. They are completely self contained, which makes moving and emptying very easy. Our steel oil tanks are low maintenance, as no rainwater can enter the bunded area. All of the tanks come with a high specification and only premium ancillary equipment is used.
Choosing a Steel Oil Tank Size
You can view all of our steel oil tanks as a long term investment, as they are built to last. By buying a tank with a large capacity, you can save money on kerosene. Though the initial tank cost will be more, you can save money in the long run by bulk buying kerosene. The price of kerosene often changes, but a larger tank allows you to stock up when prices are low. You can take advantage of offers, deals and savings.
A large steel oil tank also means you don’t need to refuel it as often, which can reduce the cost of deliveries. It also reduces the chances of you running out of fuel completely. Over the course of the tank’s lifespan, these savings really do add up. It’s a good idea to opt for the highest steel oil tank capacity within your budget and space.
Steel Oil Tank Guarantee
All of our bunded steel oil tanks come with a 10 year guarantee when registered, and our single skin steel oil tanks come with a two year guarantee when registered. You will also receive a one year guarantee on ancillary goods. To extend the lifespan of your steel oil tank, carry out regular maintenance and checks.

Requirements and Regulations for Storing Oil
There are a number of legal requirements in England for storing oil, dictated by the Control of Pollution Regulations (Oil Storage) (England) Regulations 2001.
● Oil tanks with a capacity larger than 3,500 litres must have a bund.
● Oil tanks located in an area where spills risk polluting groundwater must have a bund.
● All oil tanks must have a life expectancy of 20 years or more.
● All oil tanks must be made using a suitable material for storing oil.
● All ancillary equipment must be placed within the secondary containment system.
● From March 2020, oil tanks in Wales storing more than 200 litres must have a bund.
Oil Tank Building Regulations
Any oil tanks connected to combustion devices - such as central heating systems and ovens - must comply with strict building regulations. These dictate how far the oil tank must be from boundaries which are not fire rated. All oil tanks must be…
● At least 1.8m away from any non fire rated structure, such as buildings and windows.
● A least 0.76m away from non fire rated boundaries, such as a fence.
● At least 0.6m away from any screening, such as foliage or trellis.
Placed on a hardcore base that’s at least 42mm thick. This base should extend at least 300mm past the furthest point of the tank on all sides.
